Domaine Chandon Pinot Noir Carneros 2009
Deep plum red with cherry hues. The aromas reveal layers of cinnamon, fig, nutmeg and toffee with a note of spicy French oak. Flavors of brown spice, black cherry, caramel, and a subtle hint of truffle characterize the palate. The wine is powerful and intense, revealing complex layers of ripe fruit and a long, satisfying finish.
Domaine Chandon is one of the most recommended wineries in the Napa Valley, and the only one with its own 4-star restaurant. The winery established its reputation with sparkling wines, and in 1989, the winery began crafting still wines from the classic Champagne varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
Nice balance, there is some but not too much oak or butter.

Deep red and black fruit on the nose. Quite tannic for a pinot noir and take a while to open up. Once it does, however, it comes off as extremely well structured with a wonderful velvety feel in the mouth and a nice medium length finish.

Chandon Brut 1500ml wine is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a mid to straw yellow colour. Aromas of lifted spice and fig with honey and floral notes are evident on the nose. This wine is made using the classic Methode Traditionnelle including aging for 15 to 18 months on yeast before disgorging. Chandon NV has a mellow, biscuit aroma with floral and honeyed notes. The front and middle palate is round and creamy and the flavour is long with a lively, Brut finish.
Chandon Brut is the pinnacle of the Chandon stable and good enough to rival some of it's French cousins. Stone fruit flavours with green apple crunchy acidity and a complex yet subtle yeast character.
