1st single Pinot Noir vineyard ever for Domaine Carneros, estate grown and only sold at the winery. Aromas filled with pomegranate, cherry, vanilla. Palate extends to the varying red fruits and earthy tea leaves. A little tight and needs time but has incredible potential.

The Mondovi Caneros got me started on these Pinots and I have been very happy with them thus far. This is a new wine being added to a wine list and I was able to drink the first bottle with the Wine Educator. With some help I was actually able to get the Earth and Animal from this one, but think it could really open up in good time.

Destined to be a classic, this 2006 Carneros pinot noir exhibits aromas of dried cherries, cedar and traces of dried tobacco. As the wine opens in the glass, underlying notes of vanilla bean and the fresh scent of a strawberry patch on a warm spring afternoon become evident. With a faint brick-red hue, this pinot noir tantalizes the palate with flavors of black plums, white pepper and blueberries.
