Domaine Chandon is one of the most recommended wineries in the Napa Valley, and the only one with its own 4-star restaurant. The winery established its reputation with sparkling wines, and in 1989, the winery began crafting still wines from the classic Champagne varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

Very subtle aromatics offer up notes of green tea and herbs over white fruits that recall pears. The feel in the mouth is really elegant with a fine mousse and nuanced notes of toasted almond, juicy tart pear, peach and gooseberry. This is almost weightless in the mouth with a long finish that combines mineral and almond notes with notes of ripe gooseberry. Lovely texture and complexity here. 92pts

Outstanding domestic sparkler, with 5 years of aging prior to bottling. Beautiful gilt color, fine mousse and bead. Aromas of mineral, toast, and yeast give way to a delicate pear and brioche palate. Nice depth and length of finish.
Very nice California sparkler. I always enjoy this wine. Good fruit and biscuit balance. Very pretty bead.

Tasted at winery. Very impressive bubbly that shows a lot of maturity (you can tell it was aged a few years). Dry with yeasty bread smell and taste. They combine to offer a subtle caramel flavour. Very nice finish.

Chandon Etoile Brut has tiny bubbles which elevate a complex bouquet of ripe pear, toasted brioche and apple compote. Lemon custard flavors caress the palate followed by notes of baked apple crisp and roasted hazelnuts. The elegant structure persists throughout the long, savory finish.

A delicate, detailed wine, with vivid ginger, spice, cherry and rose petal scents, turning smooth and rich. Drink now through 2008.
Boldly structured, this full-bodied bubbly shows spicy baked apple aromas and concentrated tropical fruit, yeast roll and nutmeg flavors. Drink now.
The refined texture recommends this brut, which is mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with a splash of Pinot Meunier. It's an elegant wine, rich in citrus fruits, green apples, raspberries, smoke and creamy yeast, but it's very young and aggressive. Needs time. Cellar through 2012.
Racy aromas of toasty spice, cherry and Fuji apple lead to layered, zesty green apple and vanilla flavors that turn crisp and minerally on the finish. Drink now through 2012.
Stylish and elegant, a full-bodied brut with plenty of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay character in the fruity, peach and lime flavors. Nice integration, with intensity and balance. The finish is dry and clean, with a hint of hazelnut.
