What to Expect
The third, and least used, grape of Champagne. Pinot Meunier has historically been used to add an earthy edge and aromatic depth to Champagne. It is also bottled as a still red wine where it displays its earthy edged cherry fruit on a medium-bodied frame. It resembles a rustic version of Pinot Noir, albeit with higher acidity and clumsier tannins.
Winemakers Notes
Pinot Meunier is the charming rustic cousin of Pinot Noir and plays a small but vital role in the blending of Chandon sparkling wines. Our vineyard property in Carneros seems to be the perfect home for this fruit, and once it has been romanced into a bottle, we believe its singular character deserves a place on every wine lover's table.

Reviews Add a Review
Chandon's Pinot Meunier is fascinating little wine. Very attractive nose with a ton of fresh ripe red fruit and a slight herbal note. The palate is very similar with a medium amount of tannins, refreshing acidity and the same attractive red fruit flavors. It's a very easy to drink wine that I think would have wide appeal (it did with the people I served it to).
