Domaine Berthet Rayne Cairanne Tradition 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Cairanne is one of the top villages in the Cotes du Rhone Villages appellation and is attracting increasing interest in the UK. This domaine, run by the brothers Michel and Andre Berthet-Rayne, is based in Cairanne, near Orange, one of the villages on the edge of the extensive sun-baked Plan de Dieu plateau, and now the leading village in the Côtes du Rhone Villages appellation. The domaine produces warming, full-bodied wines, using the typical varieties of the region; Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. The superb Cairanne is made from old, low yielding vines.
