Originating from a family of winemakers in Cravant, Bernard Baudry started his career as a wine consultant in a laboratory in Tours, working alongside Jacques PUISAIS, after having studied oenology in Beaune. After 5 years of gaining experience he decided to start up his own business in 1975 with 2 hectares of vines.
Lots of fresh herbaceous blackberry on the nose here, coupled with refreshing hints of menthol and cough drop. My better half and I both though the nose was a bit like a dolcetto. On the palate it was slightly less complex. Lots of plush, soft tannin and a delicate balance of flavors. The body was a defining characteristic of this wine - very mouth filling and was kind of mouth coating (like glycerin/viognier.) My better half loved this one.
