Domaine Bernard Baudry Chinon les Granges 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Les Granges is a fruity wine ready for drinking in its youth. A smooth and lively Chinon characteristic of a sandy and gravely terroir.

Lots of fresh herbaceous blackberry on the nose here, coupled with refreshing hints of menthol and cough drop. My better half and I both though the nose was a bit like a dolcetto. On the palate it was slightly less complex. Lots of plush, soft tannin and a delicate balance of flavors. The body was a defining characteristic of this wine - very mouth filling and was kind of mouth coating (like glycerin/viognier.) My better half loved this one.

Mathieu Baudry makes this wine from a 14.8-acre vineyard of gravel and sand producing a bright blue-fruited franc with scents of iodine and game. The best part of the wine is the satin texture. Serve it with seared duck breast. Wine & Spirits. Wine & Spirits A Cabernet Franc wine from Loire Valley in France. 2011 2011 Baudry Domaine Bernard Chinon les Granges Cabernet Franc 750ml

From one of our favorite Chinon producers, Bernard Baudry. Superb dark berried fruit, fleshy tannins and all around freshness. Don't miss out.
