Dom Santa Duc les Plans Vin de Pays de Vaucluse 2009

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine for ten pounds from a gentleman who was selling some other bottles on the www.bidforwine.co.uk website. It is made by Yves Gras who owns and runs a vineyard in Gigondas but also operates as a negociant in other parts of the southern Rhone region. [www.santaduc.fr ]The VDP de Vaucluse covers the western part of Provence adjacent to the Rhone river. The wine consists of a blend of 50% grenache,25% syrah,15% merlot and 10% cabernet sauvignon and is aged in stainless steel tanks rather than oak barrels.I drank my bottle at the weekend with my dinner of roast chicken and I have to report that I liked it very muchIt is very easy drinking with soft tannins and there is plenty of fruit and flavour there

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
