This recently released wine it still very younthful indeed, with marked acidity and no sign so far of the great depth and tight-knit layers of flavour that develop in Dom Pérignon with bottle age. The strongest impression on the nose is of a broad, crème patissière aroma which for the moment is rather at odds with the austerity on the palate. There is no hurry whatsoever to drink this! Dawdle over your supplies of 1992, then tackle 1993 and only then 1995 - although the 1996 should certainly be worth considering.

Very green. Real autolysis character - very Dom P, very flattering! Surprisingly sweet on the palate though which jars a bit. Or is this just the richness of the vintage? Certainly this is the easiest wine to drink so far in the tasting... Very persistent mousse. Lots of interesting components all in balance. Quite long.
