Dolce 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

"The 2011 Dolce presents butterscotch and citrus fruit aromas enriched with toasted caramel crème brûlée and vanilla. As promised by the orange and citrus blossom aromas, similarly driven flavors mingled with honeysuckle and butterscotch are foremost on the palate. This wine’s balance of sweetness and mouthwatering acidity offers a compelling sense of volume, and the coating texture progresses to a structured and lengthy finish." - Winemaker Notes

Dolce embraces a deceptively simple philosophy: the pursuit of perfection in the art of late harvest winemaking. Created in 1985 by the partners of Far Niente, its existence is the result of overcoming remarkable adversity and developing expertise where no one else in the U.S. had it. Dolce stands as the pinnacle, where Mother Nature and craftsmanship combine to define luxury through a wine capable of flirting with your emotions like no other. With a classic blend of late harvest Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, Dolce is the only American winery dedicated to producing a single late harvest wine. Dolce has brought forth a wine in every vintage, yet in small, unpredictable quantities; witness to the incredible difficulties presented every year in the effort to make Dolce. Dolce is an extraordinary wine bred from a combination of sunshine, soil, fog, expertise and dedication; a wondrous luxury, limited by nature to always being a gift of absurd rarity. Read less

Vintage: 1999 05/02/2009

Dark yellow-gold, fat, rich and concentrated, with layers of apricot, fig, butterscotch, smoke, tobacco and caramel, supported by firm acidity and finishing with a long, rich, oily aftertaste. Drink now through 2012. 1,600 cases made. –JL Wine Spectator. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 1999 Dolce (Far Niente) 1500ml
