Wintergreen, quinine and eucalyptus top the red fruit of the nose. This is rather broad in the mouth, though clear and bright with a slightly flannelly feel to the fine, fresh fruit tones. There’s something slightly exotic about the fruit here, a little papaya/guava action going on and adding depth the raspberry fruit that offers up a super sweet/mineral tension. This is still youthful but is a very complete wine. The herbal notes of the nose come out on the back end adding more depth and freshness to the earthy wild cherry finish. Damn this is good. 91pts

Spice and licorice aromas with a bit of cherry and hints of medicine. Attacks like a cherry cough drop, the fruit is a little astringent but finishes long.

Molasses and black pepper on the nose - definitely getting a bit of sweetness on the palate, with lovely dark fruit, fine spice, cinnamon, more molasses and a finish of chewy tannins and blackberries. Very lovely.

Light body, acidic. Simple, with red fruit.

Lots of fruit, almost a fruitbomb. Blackberries and cherries, with a sweet but slightly tart finish. Reminds me of a $20 Aussie Shiraz.

Dark blue-purple and opaque. The nose is a luxurious burst of blackberries, dark earth, and bing cherries; if velvet had a scent this would be it. On the palate its cherries stewed in fine cognac, blackberry jam with a little dark earth, aggressive tannins, and extremely bright fruit. Drink now through 2018.

Winemaker's Notes:

Color: Garnet, pure and bright. Aroma: Dark cherries, refreshing, hint of forest floor, Red Vines licorice. Mouth feel: Sensuous, balanced, good grip and acidity. Flavor: Tart cherries, baked cherry tart, little red licorice. Finish: Balanced and bright.
