One of the most uneventful wines I have ever tasted. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it or bad about it. It pairs will most food or no food. It has alcohol in it which I've heard can get you drunk. I paired it with spicy sausage ravioli and it went fine. The most dominant flavor for me is wet cigar.

Tuscany, ItalyDievole Vendemmia is a beautiful expression of the famous Chianti Classico appellation of Tuscany from a classic vintage. With a rich history dating to the year 1090, Dievole is considered among the top producers in Tuscany. Vendemmia Chianti Classico is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% other native Tuscan grapes, hand-harvested from all 16 of Dievole's vineyards.Dievole Vendemmia Chianti Classico is deep ruby red in color with a fruity nose of dark berries, ginger, white pepper and spice. Medium-full in body with moderate acidity and lean tannins, this red offers flavors of black cherry, blackberry, chocolate, and smoke, with well integrated sweet oak. Aged for 12 months in 80% oak casks and 20% French and American oak barriques. It combines power and elegance, and is nicely balanced to enjoy now or to cellar for 7-8 years. The finish is rich, long and silky.Enjoy Dievole Vendemmia Chianti Classico with veal, pasta, osso bucco, and aged cheeses.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Dievole estate is found in the small Etruscan village of Vagliagli on the rolling hills of Siena. The 411 hectares are all enclosed in one estate in the heart of Tuscany in the Chianti Classico area. Here you can find woods, olive groves and crop fields with of course the 86 hectares of Dievole’s vineyards, 300-420 metres above sea level. Traditional and antique vines grow aside new and fashionable vines, cultivated using the spurred cordon system, with a plant density from 4,500 to 6,800 vines per hectare in the Sessina and Campinovi vineyards. There is proof that the winery has been working since 1090, when two farmers went to the Commune to pay their rent for the land with six silver coins, three loaves of bread and two chickens. The grapes have been harvested by hand in baskets only at the end of September- mid October and is a blend of all the Dievole’s 16 vineyards. This Dievole 'Vendemmia' displays an intense ruby deep colour. On the nose it is fruity with spicy highlight, ginger and white pepper. Dry and full body on the palate, it has tannic soft and minerals taste. Serve with pastas with traditional ragù, grilled meat.
