Opens with a beautiful nose of black cherry, dark berries, hints of saddle leather, oak. Broad first taste, and swirling reveals more of the cherry notes in the initial impression. Very engaging, surprisingly so for a wine at this price point. Lingering finish of warm spices, vanillin, and gentle tannins. Very nicely structured, and enjoyable. Most of all, this is a delicious wine for a great price. It's not a Burgundy, and doesn't pretend to be. It expresses Carneros Pinot Noir quite remarkably, and is as good as wines I've tasted from the appellation for over twice the price. I'll definitely be back for more. Drink over the next 2-3 years. It's got plenty of life left, but I wouldn't push it too far.

Vintage: 2007 03/08/2011

The 2007 Diamond Oak Pinot Noir surprises the pallette, with the depth and breadth of fruit it presents. Offering a full friuted initial burst followed by a generous coating of the mid pallette, the finish displays polished red fruit and vanilla flavors that linger nicely, thanks to the wines maturing in 1/3 new French Oak for 18 months. HIghly recommended.

This wine begins with enticing aromas of cherry and spice leading to flavors of raspberries and strawberries with cream accentuated by the slightest hint of cedar. This is a satisfying and well balanced wine.
