User Reviews for Diamond Creek Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Red Rock Terrace
Add your reviewDark, rich purple color. Jammy nose with hints of blackberry and currant. Medium to heavy bodies with a nice hotness behind it. Interesting blend of varieties giving it the tannins and sternness of Cabernet and Merlot with the spice that you would get from the Malbec variety. Very meaty and a wonderfully thick mouth feel. Would be nicely paired with red meat. The finish lingers on and makes you want the next sip. I have always liked Clarets. As far as I know they always contain the same 5 grape varieties but the percentage it was makes the wine. So I thought I would just mention the varieties and the percentages in this vintage. Great wine for the price! 79% Cabernet Sauvignon 9% Petit Verdot 7% Merlot, 3% Malbec 2% Cabernet Franc
I am not a fan of clarets but this one is pretty good. Bought it on sale for $13 at Costco. Medium bodied. very smooth. good nose. medium tannins. very merlot like. I like it.

Francis Ford Coppola calls this wine his "prize offering." It's a classic Bordeaux blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Malbec, 3% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are sourced from Napa, Sonoma, El Dorado and the Coppola Estate. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 16 months. From the excellent 2008 vintage, it shows rich fruit and a balanced structure, but the real beauty of this wine is the affordable price. For under $20 this Coppola Diamond Collection Claret is a true gem.
Our prize offering, the ultra premium Claret, sports a label that honors the first Cabernet blended in a Bordeaux style by Gustave Niebaum in 1910. Claret is a term originally coined by the British to describe Cabernet-based wines. This Cabernet, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec blend is alluring and sophisticated; it is memorably lush with a tapestry of smooth tannins and succulent flavors of wild berries, plum and anise. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
Aromas of cassis and licorice with hints of leather precede a rich, velvety-textured palate of red fruit jam and a sweet touch of toasty oak on the long finish.
A chocolatey wine with a deep red color, dark plummy fruits, and a nice dose of warm baking spices on the finish. Silky-smooth tannins give it a great friendly structure.
This Claret is always elegant, but this year it's a true show stopper; lush with a beautiful tapestryof smooth tannins, intense flavor, and seductive aromas.
