Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain Gravelly Meadow 1998
Drank in 2007 after 1 hour of decanting. Very Funky Barnyard nose, but in the mouth tasted like mature classed Bordeaux: earth, leather, grilled mushroom, cassis. Really nice wine

Toasty warm earth offering lush cherry and boysenberry characteristics. Garnet color with firm tannins, olive and mint ascending a vibe toward Pinot Noir but with a full-blown, pedal to the metal, white knuckle explosion on the tongue!
Remarkably elegant, complex, ripe and concentrated, with a sweet plum and cherry accent to the spicy anise, cedar and light oak shadings. With its relatively mild tannins it's tempting now, but worthy of cellaring into 2000.
Red-ruby. Bright aromas of cassis, tobacco, bay leaf, juniper berry, smoked meat and menthol. Juicy, youthful red berry in the mouth, with nuances of dried flowers and eucalyptus. Finishes with subtle fruit flavor and modest tannins. Very nicely balanced: not dry like some past vintages of this wine.
Earthy and complex - typical of this vineyard - with layers of clay, spice, berry and cherry; long and lingering on the finish. Needs time. Best from 2002.
Tight, tart and compact, but rich in flavor, with crisp, stemmy black cherry and wild-berry flavors. Turns firmly tannic. with an oaky, earthy aftertaste. Needs time. Best from 2004 through 2014.
Medium-weight, with pleasing cedar, currant and cherry notes and modest tannins...
Simply delicious, with an amazing amount of fruit complexity and tiers of currant, black cherry, plum and spice. Remarkably rich and concentrated on the finish. Better than when tasted upon release, last year.
