Demartino Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 347 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

This line was named 347 to represent the number of vineyards that De Martino has vinified thus far throughout Chile in search of the best terroirs. The concept reflects Chile’s diversity and De Martino’s pioneering spirit. The fruit was hand-selected and sorted through a manual harvest in early March. A cold-soak immediately followed directly in the press for 12-24 hours at 8°C. Fermentation took place at 10-14°C stainless steel tanks over 18 days. The wine then rested on the lees for one month prior to being filtered, fined, refrigerated, and bottled.

San Martiño Winery & Vineyards opened its doors in the spring of 2004. We are a small family-owned winery specializing in handcrafted wines using modern techniques but with a traditional “soul” borne in the fertile lands of northwestern Spain. The village of San Martiño, (see picture below), located in the mountains of the Galician region, has been making traditional wines for hundreds of years. It was at the village of San Martiño that our love and knowledge of wine and wine making techniques started. Through years of watching and helping our family in the vineyard we came to appreciate the special relationship between people, their land and the food they grow. Our Texas winery was created by borrowing from the traditions of the San Martiño village and its people, the tenacity and resolution of our family and learned modern wine-making techniques. Our heritage is rich and although we are not Texas largest winery, we aim to be the best!. Here you can watch us grow and participate with us as we travel together in this adventure because we know that without you we are not. So come by and visit with us while relaxing with a glass or bottle of one of our wines. Bring a picnic and enjoy a break from the rat race. Read less

Tasting Notes:

A brilliant yellow color with green undertones immediately communicates the sensation of freshness. It is refreshing on the nose with notes of citrus and tropical fruits and an herbaceous quality. On the palate, it is fresh with an intense acidity. Fruity notes reappear on the lingering finish.
