Smooth for a Chard. Color - pale yellow Smell - grassy herbs Taste - Apricots and slight hint of butter with very light touch of sweetness. Good choice for fish.

A mostly unoaked chardonnay with a small blend of barrel aged. The bottle didn't advertise that it was essentially unoaked, so I was surprised at the lack of buttery-ness. A scan of the label soon revealed the reason. A nice surprise for someone like me who prefers the taste of the fruit to the taste of the barrel. Pale yellow colour, apricots on the nose, crisp, lingering apple palate with a hint of sweetness. I had this with proscuitto e melone and a duck ravioli in an arrabbiata sauce. It didn't really suit the melon, but was good with the proscuitto and the duck dish.
