Woody on the nose but with precise aromas of pineapple, tarragon, cut grass, and lime rind. This is opulent in the mouth, rich, velvetty, seamless, with a creamy texture up front that gains focus in the mouth. the oak is present but not unbalanced and the fruit is rich and powerful, and certainly the oak's equal in the mouth. It may take some time to fully tame to oak induced aromatics but the fruit is already assertive, dripping with fresh pineapple, a touch of hard peach, sweet lime, and a background note of green chili. The finish is bright and fresh citrus fruits with a discrete hint of chili. This is flat out not my style of wine but boy is this good. 94pts
