Delille Cellars Chaleur Estate 2006
Rich, smoky aromas of fig, toast and crème brulée combined with the sweet straw of the Sauvignon Blanc. This is a powerhouse white wine that is youthful and complex. Pear, straw, honeydew melons and citrus peel flavors expand in the mouth. Silky, creamy textures add to the personality of the wine. Varietal Blend:61% Sauvignon Blanc 39% Semillon
For a sauv blanc and semillion blend, this was very dry and woody. Very toasty. Much like white Graves, but I found it to be slightly less appealing. Not bad, just not fantastic in my opinion.
Tasted again 8/5/09 and liked it a bit more this time.
A bone dry white that is oaked and very balanced. The fruit is secondary and is mainly citrus.
