This sparkler is made using the traditional method, as is done in Champagne, but it comes from the Loire Valley of France and is made from Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc grapes. The pale yellow color and tiny bubbles impress on sight. Aromas of freshly cut roses and tiny wild raspberries greet the nose. The very delicate flavors of wild raspberries and barely ripened pears give way to a touch of mint, dandelion leaves and arugula. All of these aromas and flavors are woven together by a cloudlike creaminess. Serve with finger foods at a cocktail party, or to open a grand spread.

Abruzzo boasts one of the most dramatic landscapes of any province of Italy. From the Adriatic Sea on the east begins a steady procession of rolling, then steep, hills leading to the foot of the Appenines. This terrain is ideally suited for growing grapes: ideal soils, exposure to the sun, valleys which retain heat during the day, and cooling mountain breezes at night. Here, in central Abruzzo, Valle Reale is working to transform the ubiquitous Trebbiano grape. Many strains of Trebbiano exist, but Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, considered one of the best, is not Trebbiano at all, but Bombino Bianco! "Little white bomb" or not, cold maceration in stainless steel preserves the lively freshness of the young vines' fruit. An initial aroma of melon introduces the fragrance of white wild flowers and flavors of lemon and orange zest. It is clean, crisp, and refreshing, with good underlying acidity. A wine to enjoy... A soft, forward sparkler, offering friendly pear and apple notes, with a hint of brioche on the finish. Drink now.
