Food Pairings for Delectus Petite Sirah
"The vines in this amazing vineyard were planted in 1911 (the oldest PS vineyard in the Napa Valley) high up on Spring Mountain, west of St. Helena. We were offered three separate blocks in May 2000, and that first vintage catapulted itself to become the top rated Petite Sirah in Wine Spectator (2003). Since then, our increasing knowledge of this vineyard has produced more refined and complex wines that have turned heads and won hearts. We've always said that our Petite Sirah is not for the fainthearted, and this vintage follows its predecessors. This is a serious wine. The nose is filled with black cherry and black licorice. It evolves into a creamy blackberry and vanilla filled bouquet. It is rounded out with spicy hints of bay leaves. This dense and chewy wine has palatable & peripheral tannins that continue long after the wine has left the palate. A beautifully balanced wine with a long lingering finish." -Winery
