Vintage: 2009 04/18/2013

This Delas Crozes Hermitage is lightish with a leathery prune, rye flour and cranberry (acidic fruit) nose. The body is medium with modest structure - though the balance is good and the fresh acidity is palate-cleansing. A good wine for lighter meats or on the patio. Drink now through 2015. 87 points.

Ripe plums, some smoke, aniseed and dark rye bread. The taste has high acids, moderate tannins and a pretty long finish. Could have more body and weight.

The wine has a deep garnet red color. It is fruity on the nose with strong aromas of cassis, plums and a touch of violets. The tannic structure is ample and well rounded, which assures good aging potential. It is recommended with game, grilled and rich foods.
