A lighter bodied Syrah (with %25 Grenache) with nice, pure black cherries, subtle spice, clean minerals and gripping acidity. Even a little bit of a toffee flavor creeps in.

In der Nase entfalten sich Aromen von schwarzer Frucht und Gewürztöne. Im Gaumen feinstoffig mit ausgezeichneter Balance.
Bright ruby. Zesty, tightly focused red and dark berry aromas are complicated by dusty minerals and cracked pepper. Fleshy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors gain weight with air but maintain a lively personality, finishing with excellent sweetness and length.
The luxury cuvee, the 2005 St.-Joseph Ste.-Epine, is a brutally tannic vin de garde. It possesses plenty of depth, but also ferocious tannins combined with relatively high acidity. Interestingly, Jacques Granges told me that the total acidity of the 2005s is actually lower than in 2006, but the acids tend to show more on the palate in 2005 than they do in 2006.
Delas Freres Cotes du Ventoux Rhone This is a charming, soft, fragrant Rhne red at a very gentle price from Delas Freres who make award winning Hermitage and Cte Rotie selling for as much as $125 per bottle. Chill slightly like a Beaujo-lais and serve with roast chicken and white meats.
