Dehlinger Chardonnay Russian River Valley Unfiltered 2006

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Robert Parker: `The top cuvee the 2006 Chardonnay Estate is fashioned from the vineyards finest blocks (primarily old Wente clones). A light straw/gold color is followed by aromas of sweet honeyed grapefruit quince poached pears and a subtle touch of white peaches. Medium to full-bodied with steely acidity excellent depth a hint of oak and a long finish it can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 years.` (12/08) 91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: `Light bright gold. Restrained scents of green apple and pear skin unfurl with air offering deeper melon and peach qualities. Tangy sharply focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors stain the palate picking up floral and herbal character with air. The finish is strikingly pure and bright and repeats the citrus and floral notes. This seems very young and in need of a year or two to unwind. ` (May/June '09) The 2006 Chardonnay displays classic aromas of Gravenstein apples lime curd toasted brioche wet stones and hints of toasted haz

We are currently initiating a vineyard redevelopment on several of our vineyard blocks. In-house Vineyard Manager Marty Hedlund has been over-seeing the 45 acres of vines since 1988. Hedlund works with the vineyard crew to ensure that each area of the vineyard is appropriatedly pruned, managed, and thinned to bring out the potential of each peice of soil. The entire vineyard has been retrained to a "lyre"-shaped split-canopy, vertical shoot-positioned trellis system which allows for superior light penetration to the fruiting zone and systematic hand care.
