Editorial Reviews for Dehesa Gago Tinto Cosecha
At first this has an attractive and assertive green nettle tone which then yields to a shale mineral component and subtle notes of horse and black licorice that accent the lovely almost candied yet very clear black raspberry liquor fruit. Smooth and rich on the mouth with a leanness that is attractive and a cleansing quality to the acid and tannin that doesn’t obscure the herb and hot dry soil tinged black raspberry fruit. This shows a touch more tannin on the back end that gives this a bit of rusticity but the tannins are wonderfully crisp with just a hint of refreshing astringency Full throttle and eminently drinkable, this is neither particularly complex nor simple, just terrific. 91pts
Lots of fresh blackberry and plum notes - kind of jammy on the nose, akin to beaujolais. Dark ruby colour. Described as a "rambunctious wine" by the wine maker, we found this one to be deep and acidic on the palate with fruit, some mint, and rough tannin. This wine doesn't get any oak, even though we all swore we tasted it (this might be a good example of what people call stemmy tannin?) Medium to long length.
Excellent, fine balance of dryness and fruit, pairs well with spicy foods.
A bright, pale-green and yellow hue, aromas of green citrus, wet hay, diesel and minerals; bright, tart acid driven notes of asparagus, kiwi and wet stone thru a long, focused finish. Worth every penny when paired with a picnic or white fish.
This was really an exceptionally unique and standout wine. It has it's own character - very similar to the Yalumba Barossa I often drink.

This wine is made entirely from the Tinto de Toro grape, better known as Tempranillo. The “G” is fermented in stainless steel, allowing its pristine aromas of black plum, cherry and spice to be perfectly preserved.
This red is light-bodied but muscular, with focused flavors of cherry, berry, herbs and tobacco, supported by light, firm tannins and lively acidity. Balanced and subtle.
