Decoy Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc since 1982. Expanding on this winemaking tradition, Decoy Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc allows our winemaking team the opportunity to explore a different expression of this great grape from another recognized California appellation. The 2013 growing season delivered a vibrant and aromatic expression of Sauvignon Blanc with lovely layers of mango and papaya, balanced by notes of citrus zest and orange blossom. On the palate, this wine is soft and velvety with flavors of white peach, grapefruit and melon leading to a long, crisp finish. Eight vineyards harvested. 100% stainless steel fermentation.

Light intensity aromas of quince and gooseberry. Flavors are full with medium plus intensity, lemon lime and tart acidity. Crisp and fresh wine, perfect for sipping.

Very good Napa sauvignon blanc, well worth the price. Nicely balanced, not too citrusy or tart but just enough tang with lemon and green apple.

First off a disclaimer, I like @duckhornwine. Now that there is a full like of Decoy wines I had to try some. The Sauvignon Blanc uses a good percentage of Semillon which I like. The wine is fresh and vibrant on the nose. There is a lot of citrus in the taste and lots of acid that is balanced by semillon. Great value from a great producer.

As fat and succulent as this wine may be, with ripe pineapple, fresh apple and leesy tannin, the structure keeps it discreet and lasting. It finishes with a gentle touch, substantial enough to match an albacore tuna.

This frames Napa Valley ripeness in an elegant white, holding passionfruit and peach flavors to a level of delicacy that keeps them clean. A hint of asparagus-like greenness doesnrsquo;t detract from the persistence of the fruit. Serve this as an aperitif with a seafood terrine.

This is a delightfully crisp, drily balanced Sauvignon Blanc thatrsquo;s perfect as a cocktail sipper with little appetizers. Made without any oak influence, it shows the varietyrsquo;s grapefruit, Meyer lemon, lime and grassy side, along with zesty acidity.

An interesting and complex wine, dry and crisp, and unique among California Sauvignon Blancs. Although there's plenty of citrus fruit, it's marked by other things, such as minerals and herbs, and the sweet, olivaceous taste that the variety's Sauvignon na

Winemakers Notes - This wine was fermented exclusively in stainless steel to achieve a lively expression of Sauvignon Blanc, highlighting grapefruit, kiwi, kaffir lime, lemon zest and fresh-cut grass aromas. The palate is bright and balanced, and the flavors echo the aromas, with additional notes of pineapple, gooseberry and minerals leading to a full, refreshing finish. This enticing Sauvignon Blanc offers a beautiful combination of freshness and complexity, with aromas of pineapple, guava, and lemon zest. The addition of Sémillon highlights the wine's tropical notes, with nuances of subtle oak.
