Decoy Red Sonoma County 2014

External Review by We Speak Wine:

2014 Harvest Notes: After getting off to a relatively early start, sunny skies and slightly above average temperatures made for a very consistent and speedy Sonoma County harvest. Yields were just a touch above average, and the quality was excellent across all varietals. Our final pick of pristine, perfectly ripe fruit came into our new winemaking facility on October 17th. Overall, 2014 delivered the third phenomenal vintage in a row, with exceptional color and concentration, and delicious aromas and flavors. Comments from the Winemaker: Rich and concentrated, this wine reveals lush layers of blueberry, blackberry and sweet rhubarb. Hints of caramel and toasty oak add depth and complexity, while framing the voluptuous fruit, and drawing the flavors to a long, multifaceted finish. Composition: 52% Merlot 22% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Petite Sirah 8% Cabernet Franc 8% Petit Verdot Alcohol: 13.9% ** Only 7 in Stock **

Vintage: 2013 08/28/2016

2013 Harvest Notes: The 2013 harvest was early, even and excellent with a warm dry spring brought an early bud break and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set. In the weeks after Labor Day, a moderate heat event followed by a period of perfect weather created a dream scenario for end-of-season ripening. Rain was not a factor, and for the second vintage in a row, the quality of the grapes was exceptional throughout Sonoma County. Comments from the Winemaker: The exceptional 2013 growing season yielded a spectacular Decoy Red Wine filled with alluring layers of cassis, black cherry and plum, as well as hints of baking spice, black licorice and cocoa. On the palate, this wine is weighty and deliciously complex, with refined tannins adding length and focus to a long, satisfying finish. Composition: 25% Merlot 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 15% Zinfandel 15% Cabernet Franc 11% Petite Sirah 9% Petit Verdot 5% Malbec Cooperage: 12 Months - 100% French Oak, 40% New, 60% Neutral Alcohol: 13.9 % pH: 3.68 TA: 0.59 g/L
