What to Expect

California's Napa Valley has been a source of world-class Cabernet Sauvignon for well over a century. Its warm climate and varied terrain allows for many styles of wine. One thread that runs through almost all the Cabernet based wines from Napa is their lush, ripe full-bodied feel and rich flavors of currant and berry. Wines from the valley floor, particularly around Rutherford, are famed for a dusty quality and those coming from the hillsides surrounding the valley, Mt. Veeder, Diamond Mountain and Howell Mountain for example, tend to be a little leaner with more obvious structural elements.

Editorial Reviews

Really beautiful top note of pale cigar wrapper, a coy nose, lots of lurking fruit, red raspberry, mocha, hazelnut nougat, smoke, oak, spice and a touch of herb.

Big and layered with some airy space between the shell and core of this wine. Quite youthful, a nice silky feel to the tannins, the fruit is prominent but nicely ripe and with deep red currant and dried strawberry tones. A bit of wood tannin rasps across the midpalate a bit and the alcohol it a touch high but the slightly creamy, oak tinged fruit remains fresh. The finish is a bit of a let down as there’s not much length or development read more...

Winemaker Notes - This inviting wine is well-rounded with forward fruit balanced by smooth, supple tannins and a lingering finish. The aroma is approachable with black cherry, ripe berry, and floral notes of violet and rose petal. The flavors are ripe with fresh fruit including blackberry, black cherry, and cassis complemented by a spicy note of white pepper.

Nose of pine resin, moss and forest floor. Smooth in the mouth with soft tannins at first, which build over time. Intense fruit, with black cherry, blackberry and date flavors. Finishes on firmer tannins with licorice and anise notes.

Opens with a nose full of warm spice and ripe blackberries, attacks with bright red fruit and refreshing acidity, mellows into cola and finishes on chocolate.

Party wine. This is not complicated stuff, just a well put together blend. A real crowd pleaser. It's a bit expensive, but this is definitely a step above many red blends.

Very dry and witty, it bristles with confidence and leaves your tongue lashing for more. The tannins are strong and there is much complexity on the palate, with honey, floral, and herbal notes.
