De Martino Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Member Review by zinfandel1:

Very nice color. Aroma of citrus mainly lemon and grape fruit. On the palate was pleasant flavors of grape fruit and lemon. The herbaceousness was minimal. Nice finish with a lingering of lemon. I prefer to use this as an aperitif.

San Martiño Winery & Vineyards opened its doors in the spring of 2004. We are a small family-owned winery specializing in handcrafted wines using modern techniques but with a traditional “soul” borne in the fertile lands of northwestern Spain. The village of San Martiño, (see picture below), located in the mountains of the Galician region, has been making traditional wines for hundreds of years. It was at the village of San Martiño that our love and knowledge of wine and wine making techniques started. Through years of watching and helping our family in the vineyard we came to appreciate the special relationship between people, their land and the food they grow. Our Texas winery was created by borrowing from the traditions of the San Martiño village and its people, the tenacity and resolution of our family and learned modern wine-making techniques. Our heritage is rich and although we are not Texas largest winery, we aim to be the best!. Here you can watch us grow and participate with us as we travel together in this adventure because we know that without you we are not. So come by and visit with us while relaxing with a glass or bottle of one of our wines. Bring a picnic and enjoy a break from the rat race. Read less

Sweet tobacco nose follows through with a delicious tobacco palate. Tannins are smooth enough. Mouthfilling but not overly heavy although quite warmly alcoholic.

Tobacco and eucalyptus on the nose, followed by ample cherry flavors. Gracious and satisfaying mid-palate. I truly respect De Martino's winery for their dedication to give back to earth through their viticulture practices.

Weingut: De Martino / Santa InesLand: ChileRegion: Maipu ValleyRebsorte: 100% Sauvignon BlancAlkoholgehalt: 13,0 Vol. %Restsüße: trockenInhalt: 0,75 lEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 6 - 8°CLagerfähigkeit: 2 - 4 Jahre ab Jahrgang Auszeichnungen des De Martino Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2009:IWSC-Trophy 2009 Weißwein > Chile > Maipu Valley
