De Martino Cabernet Malbec Reserva Legado 2010
The Legado range is the result of a desire to express the typical character of Chile's most outstanding producing valleys. The expression of origin in the Legado wines is achieved by working with different vineyards from the same producing valley, which sometimes can have different, yet complementary characteristics. This results in wines of unique character, from the most renowned producing areas of Chile.
Charred chunks of meat on the aroma (I like it!). As it sits the toasted marshmallow, vanilla, and raspberry aromas develop. Fruit-forward on the mouth, just a bit sweet, with a dry earthy finish.
nice spice on the palate with dark fruits and currants on the nose. really gorgeous stuff here and of a great value.
Nice color. Aroma is flowery and some sweet fruits. On the palate I get some vanilla along with muted oak and some spice. The tannins are soft. The malbec appears to soften the cabernet. This is a great blend.
Food Pairings for De Martino Cabernet Malbec Reserva Legado
Elegant floral notes typical of Malbec combine with aromas of red fruit aromas and a touch of spice typical of Cabernet. They are framed by subtle notes of tobacco and vanilla contributed from a period of aging in used French oak barrels. Soft, round tannins balance out the fresh acidity of this blend making this an excellent pairing for grilled fare.
