De l'Hospitalet Rosé 2009
Gerard Bertrand is the owner of 325 hectares of vineyards across the Languedoc's best terroirs, including 82 ha in AOC Coteaux du Languedoc - La Clape (Chateau l'Hospitalet) and four other domaines in Corbieres, Minervois and Limoux. La Clape is one of the most beautiful parts of the Languedoc in a unique micro-climate situated between Narbonne-Plage and the Pyrenees. This means there is a lot of wind from either the mountains or the sea which moderates the temperature. Gerard is one of the most celebrated wine personalities in France but many of you may know him from his professional Rugby career, as a French International and the ex-Captain of Stade Francais. He is an incredibly charismatic man and has a formidable Marketing, Winemaking and Commercial team to support him. Chateau l'Hospitalet wines have fantastic regional character and are made from varietals that respond well to the terroir and climate. A gentle, dry rose with subtle raspberry and black cherry aromas. The palate is bright and fresh with the fruit balanced perfectly by the crisp acidity on the finish. An impressive, restrained wine with real character.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
