De Bortoli Noble One Semillon 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

"Produced from 100% botrytis infected Semillon, the 2009 Noble One was matured in 33% new French oak barriques, 47% in one and two year old French oak barriques with the remaining 20% unoaked. It is profoundly scented of orange marmalade, clover honey, preserved ginger and fragrant musk with hints of dried apricots, jasmine and toast. Very sweet, concentrated and rich in the mouth (201 grams per liter of residual sugar), it has a good backbone of very crisp acid cutting through the opulence, finishing long and layered. Delicious now, it should keep to 2022+." -Wine Advocate (94 Points)*HALF BOTTLE*

De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo. Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen's children established De Bortoli's reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines. Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core values, there is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends. Below is a video of the De Bortoli family taken as part of the Australia's First Families of Wine joint marketing initiative which involves some of Australia's oldest and most respected wine families. Bright, light golden in color, this dessert wine shows enticing aromas of nectarine, bush honey and peach with citrus hints and sweet vanillin oak. On the palatethere is a richly opulent note of dried stone fruits, citrus and honey complexed by oak. A luscious expression of concentrated fruit and oak with balanced acidity and textural length. A delicious partner to soft cheeses (try with blue cheese) or desserts.
