De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in 1928. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo. Their son, the energetic and dynamic Deen De Bortoli, (b 1936 – d 2003) expanded and consolidated the business created by his parents. Deen's children established De Bortoli's reputation for premium wine including icon dessert wine Noble One and the Yarra Valley wines. Italian family values passed down from Vittorio remain core values, there is a culture of hard work, generosity of spirit and of sharing good food, good wine and good times with family and friends. Below is a video of the De Bortoli family taken as part of the Australia's First Families of Wine joint marketing initiative which involves some of Australia's oldest and most respected wine families. Fun nose of rose petal, light pomegranate and pretty musk. Creamy texture with bright strawberry flavors. Light in alcohol and flavor, it exhibits honeyed ginger, Turkish delight and ripe strawberry. Nice and very light and approachable. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 5/8/10

This was a great bottle of wine. I absolutely loved it! And I would definitely recommend it to others. I cannot get this wine in my area, so I had to order it online. I went through StirlingFineWines.com. Honestly, the shipping is a little steap, but I didn't mind...it was well worth it, and I got my order within 2-3 days of ordering. I'm not real particular on wine, but this is definitely a keeper...my new fav!!!!!

Winemaker Notes - Winemaking: We select fruit from vines with generous canopies allowing natural fruit ripening. The fruit is picked and gently pressed and the juice allowed to settle naturally before being filtered. The wine is cold fermented to retain fresh fruit characters. Appearance: Pale translucent pink. Bouquet: Fresh fruit aromas with strawberry and musk. Palate: Velvety and full with a persistent bead and fresh finish.
