With classic, rich plum and raisin notes and superb depth of fruit and spice, this is a ridiculously luxurious Pinot from one of my favorite producers in north america. Made in minuscule quantities (which make most boutique Burgundy producers look like multinational corporations), this wine is a hedonist’s treat. There are subtle notes of brambleberries, dark chocolate and wild cherries and the finish is spicy and savoury with warm oakiness, purring like a tiger in your ear. Looking ever so sexy right now, this is a brilliant wine and one which will be beautiful for another 5-8 years. I showed this at the Aspen Food and Wine Classic last month and it went down a storm.

This is a very beautiful and elegant wine inside and out. It's balanced, sophisticated, and unique. The embossed and hand applied leather label is a fabulous touch. Would make a great gift in terms of presentation, great story behind the wine and quality product that even a picky palate would find truly enjoyable to consume. The only downside is that it's a really small boutique production so it could easily run out once folks start to discover it. Luckily I already have my bottles...

Complexity of fruit was extremely well balanced and well done. Ash and earth with raspberry and juicy cherry. I detected some cassis and tobacco but both were very subtle and extremely complimentary to the fruit.

Had it over New Year. Great gift from a friend. Liked the lighter style, very smooth and almost a little creamy. Great Pinot.

Enjoyed that hint of tobacco noted in an earlier review. Big fruits, more red berry and plum.

Tasting Notes:

This is the Pinot we’ve always wanted to make. Exquisite notes of ripe cherry make this an iconic wine that has depth beyond the usual ripe fruits and refreshing acidity that California typically offers. This Pinot continues to evolve in the bottle and in every taste. There are ever so subtle note of herbs, wet earth layered with rich, dark, creamy fruits. Overall this is a Pinot with great restraint, and a lightness which makes the discovery of flavors that much more enjoyable.
