What to Expect

Zinfandel is considered America's own great indigenous grape, even though its origins lie on the Adriatic coast. Planted throughout California and the Pacific Northwest, Zinfandel is at its best in warm regions with cooler temperatures during harvest. The wines can range from off-dry Rosés, White Zinfandels, and light bistro styled wines, to big, rich powerful wines - even luscious wines for dessert bottling. The flavors range from plummy to raspberry, although deep blackberry fruit and brambly spice tones are most common.

Reviews

The Paso Robles appellation has earned a reputation for Zinfandel with ripe berry flavors and pleasingly soft palates. The vineyards used in this wine were planted in the 1970's, and now yield complex, concentrated fruit with underlying spiciness. We emphasize gentle handling throughout the winemaking process to retain bright flavors and a supple palate. Our Zinfandel bursts with fresh blackberry aromas supported by hints of toast, vanilla and tobacco. The palate is lush and soft, with lingering berry flavors finishing with caramel and oak notes.
