Pale, bright yellow. Grapefruit and tarragon on the slightly herbal nose. Juicy and quite dry, with classic citrus and herbal sauvignon flavors offering good intensity. Could use more depth but finishes with decent persistence.
Silky, with green apple and melon flavors on a lively frame. Drink now.
A strong effort from Vavasour's second label, the 2008 Dashwood SB features vibrant aromas of crushed tomato leaf and hints of jalapeño and flavors of green tomato and gooseberry. It's medium in body and slightly creamy in texture, with a crisp, fruit-driven finish.
Lively, juicy style has tangy lime and passion fruit aromas and flavors that persist on the clean finish. Focused and ripe, with outstanding intensity to lime juice, guava, grapefruit and stone fruit flavors, wrapped with pointed minerality and lingering sweet pea notes.
Lemon-lime, stone and green pear flavors have very good depth, with lingering grapefruit, green bell pepper and grass notes. Drink now.
Round, easily approachable Sauvignon Blanc, with pink grapefruit aromas and flavors that verge on red berries. A hint of grassiness keeps it true to type, with citrus flavors that define the finish. Drink now.
Sourced from the Awatare and Wairau Valleys (50/50). Fresh green fruit on the nose: apple with a touch of lime and gooseberry. Very clean. Light, fresh and elegant on the palate. Simple, well crafted commercial Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now. Tasted January 2008.
