Darioush Viognier Signature 2011
The cool Oak Knoll micro-climate allows this low- yielding variety to ripen slowly, gradually revealing the bright fruit, floral and exotic spice flavors which define fine Viognier. Aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine and orange blossom laced with exotic notes of lychee and clove. A lightly chalky texture coats and broadens the palate, while the wines vivid notes of Asian pear, kumquat and orange zest are supported by classic flavors of white peaches, apricots and rose petal that linger on the fresh, well-defined finish.
Darioush, a winery noted for its Bordeaux style estate wines, implements old world labor-intensive, micro-vineyard management and new world state of the art technology to craft fine wines from its estates located in the appellations of Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder and Oak Knoll. Under the direction of Darioush Khaledi and winemaker Steve Devitt, precision and quality are of the utmost importance at the winery.
