Darioush Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2007
Wine Spectator Review Rated 90 Combines ripe pear, apple and tangerine fruit that's fresh, vibrant and full-bodied, shaded by toasty, cedary oak, turning smoky. Drink now through 2011. Wine Tasting Notes Bright aromas of nectarine, lemon zest and vanilla introduce this ethereal and impeccably balanced Chardonnay. The mineral-laden mid-palate possesses fruit forward flavors of dAnjou pear, Braeburn apple and ripe stone fruit which lingers and finishes with hints of nutmeg and toasted hazelnut.
Darioush, a winery noted for its Bordeaux style estate wines, implements old world labor-intensive, micro-vineyard management and new world state of the art technology to craft fine wines from its estates located in the appellations of Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder and Oak Knoll. Under the direction of Darioush Khaledi and winemaker Steve Devitt, precision and quality are of the utmost importance at the winery.
