Darioush Cabernet-Shiraz Blend Napa Valley Duel 2006
Member Review by oxygin21:
Tried and bought this wine at the winery, thought it was very interesting. Great fruit, and big flavor. 60/40 cab to shiraz, this blend has a wonderful bright fruit notes, while keeping its earthy black characteristics.. i drank it very young, so it was slightly more lively than desired.
Add winemaker's notes

Aromas of eucalyptus, herbs and maybe a hint of licorice. This cab is a nice big mouth full of a chocolaty cassis, a hint of espresso and spice...and maybe a touch of fermented dark berry leather...if that makes any sense. This is a yummy luxurious cab. We've never been cab drinkers, and maybe that's from inexperience with this varietal, but this one can make us a fan. We cellared it for a year from when received, and then let it decant about 40 minutes before drinking, which was recommended if you are drinking it relatively young. Ours was only 3 years old and this wine should be good for about 10. Unfortunately, this 2004 Signature cab is sold out. Try your local wine specialty store. UPDATE: we only drank half the wine, sealed it, and place it back in the wine fridge and finished it the next night. It was even better. A little more smooth and gained some chocolaty tones.
