D'Arenberg the Last Ditch Viognier Mclaren Vale/Adelaide Hills South Australia Dry But Rich Viognier 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

The Last Ditch is made up of the best barrels of Viognier from our Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale vineyards. Like its Rhone Valley siblings of Marsanne and Roussanne, Viognier is a white variety that drinks well on release, but will also increase in complexity with careful cellaring. A brilliant green tinged gold appearance. The nose is generous and expressive with citrus such as grapefruit and lime evident alongside apricot stones, ginger, peach blossom and a subtle background of preserved lemons and honey. The palate is tightly structured and youthful with apricot, peach blossom, lime and orange peel initially present. As the wine opens up a wonderful honey character shows itself with candied ginger nuances. Nutmeg and cinnamon linger with a long finish. Although drinking well now, great structure and good natural acidity suggests this wine will age well over the next three to five years with the varietal apricot characters becoming more prominent.

From the Stump Jumps through to the highly regarded Icons, these wines offer value, individuality and a true taste of McLaren Vale. The Icons The Ironstone Pressings, The Coppermine Road, The Dead Arm Shiraz The Icons are the most powerful and concentrated of d’Arenberg’s wines. Comprising of the Dead Arm, the Coppermine Road and the Ironstone Pressings, this range represents the pinnacle of d’Arenberg’s efforts. The Classic Red Stripes The Dry Dam, The Broken Fishplate, The Olive Grove, The Hermit Crab, The Custodian, The High Trellis, d’Arrys Original, The Love Grass, The Footbolt. The Last Ditch Viognier 2008 - d'Arenberg: The Last Ditch Viognier 2008 - d'Arenberg Der Jahrgang 2004 brachte einen Wein mit Tiefgang hervor. Weingut: d'ArenbergLand: AustralienRegion: McLaren ValeRebsorte: 100% ViognierInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 13,5 Vol.%Säuregehalt: 7,25 g/lLagerfähigkeit: 2 bis 4 JahreFassreife: 6 Monate in Barriques gereiftEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 12°C Weißwein > Australien > McLaren Vale
