Underneath the heat, the nose has dark fruit, cocoa and vegetal notes. Somewhat light-bodied, very fruity: strawberries, raspberries, bing cherries, empty midpalate then a cocoa finish.

This is a good all purpose red with a nice peppery finish that seems to intensify with seasoned foods that also contain pepper. It's mid range thickness and clolor make it good to drink any time of year. It is a good value for the money.

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Spectator Review Rated 90 Light in texture and fragrant with floral, berry and beet aromas, this plays its fresh flavors against refined tannins, lingering effortlessly. Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvdre. Drink now through 2013. Wine Tasting Notes An aromatic nose is of ripe fruits, christmas pudding, white pepper corns and boiled rhubarb notes. The approachable palate is dominated by red berries, licorice and savoury notes with lovely soft tannins and herbal edges. Its softness and balance of fruit and tannin make it extremely approachable at this young age.
