Danzante Pinot Grigio Venezie IGT 2009

Danzante is a collection of contemporary Italian wines intended for the enjoyment of "la dolce vita". They express both passion and style which are essential to the Italian lifestyle. With elegant aromas and rich fruit flavours, they offer a variety of styles, typically Italian, that complement almost any occasion Danzante's wines are produced in some of the most renowned Italian regions, each wine reflecting the unique characteristic of that region. Danzante Pinot Grigio is sourced from vines in the Trentino Alto Adige, the Veneto and the Friuli Venezia Giulia, the three north eastern regions of Italy, collectively known as the "Tre Venezie". With stony, deep soil, relatively high altitude and cool summers, the "Tre Venezie" allows Pinot Grigio to fully express its potential. Vintage: 2009 Grapes: 100% Pinot Grigio Soil: Deep, stony, alluvional terrains Exposure: South, Southwest Pruning: Cordon-trained spur-pruned and pergola Trentina Age of vines: 23 years Density: Between 3,000 and 4,000 vines/hectare Yield: 74HL/Hectare Winemaking: The grapes were hand selected and harvested in September.: Soft pressing of the grapes then took place.. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at below 20C lasting 15 days. The wine did not go through malolactic fermentation. The wine was left to rest in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of 4 months prior to being bottled. Serve: Chilled as an aperitif or to accompany fish soups, grilled fish, seafood, dishes based on mushrooms and oriental food. Taste: A crisp lemon blossom bouquet leads into vibrant flavours of citrus, melon and peach. A wine to be enjoyed young.
