Damiani Meritage 2010

External Review by Premium Wine & Spirits:

A well-structured style, with tobacco leaf and charcoal notes running through the solid core of black currant and blackberry fruit. Displays a grippy edge on the finish, with well-integrated toast. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2014.

A Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this is a big, beautiful red from one of my favorite New York wineries for dry reds. A solid wine with layers of fruit, spice, smoke and toast, this is a sure bet when looking to impress your friends who “only drink wines from (some place that’s not New York).” My suggestion: brown bag it and do a blind tasting on them. I’m sure they'll be impressed!
