Very, very deep crimson, very, very full. Seems relatively volatile. Very marked acid on the palate and fresh. Lots of mulberry fruit, though it is quite evolved already. This is the wacky joint venture between Dirk Niepoort of the Douro and Alvaro Castro of Quinta de Saes in Dão, reflecting historic practice of blending wines produced in the two northern Portuguese regions together.
