Da Vinci Chianti 2005
THis is not you dry Chianti. This is new world style. It has a bit of Cab and Syrah in the blend. VEry easy drinking with something to back it. Not a big finish. But not your ordinary Chianti.
Raspberry flavors on the nose, this wine exhibits a lot of sweet fruits. Has a little bit of a manufactured chemical taste to it on the finish, although it was minor.
Nice, subtle soft chianti. - Tasted at Total Wine & More 4/3/10
Can't remember if I had the 2004 or 2005 last night with lasagna, but it was tasty to sip on before dinner and went great with the pasta! A nice, affordable sangiovese.
Perhaps not a great bottle, but I'd have expected more from a chianti labeled "riserva". It fell flat for me and I'd have preferred the regular chianti or the classico. - Tasted at Total Wine & More 4/3/10
Nice and smooth. I really love this wine, but since this was my first go at Chianti, I gave it 4.5 glasses. Perhaps there is something out there that's even better? Will definitely buy again.
Oddly, it doesn't really have much of a smell. It tastes clearer than most reds I drink, like there's more water. The taste ends on the back sides of your tongue. The cork was actual cork.

The 2000 Chianti Riserva is ambitious and important, with an expansive and penetrating nose and a large-framed, concentrated palate. Drink: now-2010.
Fruchtig, mit typischen Vanille- und Zimtakzenten. Gute Struktur am Gaumen angenehm weich.
A good vein of black fruit runs through this red, with hints of violet and mineral. Full-bodied and well-balanced, with fine, silky tannins and a long, superclean finish. An outstanding Chianti. Drink now.
A phenomenal effort in a weak vintage. Fruity, plummy and delicious. Bright finish. Drink now.
A beauty. Loads of blackberry and black cherries on the nose. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a long, long finish. Very impressive. Best after 2004.
Nicely balanced, with black fruit and slightly toasty oak character. Medium-bodied. Tasty. Drink now.
