THis is not you dry Chianti. This is new world style. It has a bit of Cab and Syrah in the blend. VEry easy drinking with something to back it. Not a big finish. But not your ordinary Chianti.
Raspberry flavors on the nose, this wine exhibits a lot of sweet fruits. Has a little bit of a manufactured chemical taste to it on the finish, although it was minor.
Can't remember if I had the 2004 or 2005 last night with lasagna, but it was tasty to sip on before dinner and went great with the pasta! A nice, affordable sangiovese.
Nice, subtle soft chianti. - Tasted at Total Wine & More 4/3/10
Perhaps not a great bottle, but I'd have expected more from a chianti labeled "riserva". It fell flat for me and I'd have preferred the regular chianti or the classico. - Tasted at Total Wine & More 4/3/10
Darkish purple in color. A clean and pure nose of rose petals and blackberries. The palate shows an elegantly well structured and beautiful bright fruit profile of blackberries and black cherries. The mouthfeel has a depth of purity rarely encountered in young Chianti Riservas, at least for me. I truly love the accessibilty of this one. It has great acid and tannin balance that really pushes forth toward an elegant and fragrantly heady finish. Wow. Enjoy this one now with a nicely prepared Veal Saltimbocca or hold for a bit. Needs to be sampled to be believed.
Nice and smooth. I really love this wine, but since this was my first go at Chianti, I gave it 4.5 glasses. Perhaps there is something out there that's even better? Will definitely buy again.

Aromas of plum and tobacco-tinged oak follow through to a medium-bodied palate, with fine tannins and a lightly firm finish. Best after 2006.
Nicely balanced, with black fruit and slightly toasty oak character. Medium-bodied. Tasty. Drink now.
Fruchtig, mit typischen Vanille- und Zimtakzenten. Gute Struktur am Gaumen angenehm weich.
Attains a level of intensity not matched by the other Da Vinci wines, with bold aromas of tobacco, earth and cedar matched on the palate by flavors of cherry, plum and dried spices. This 100% Sangiovese possesses a long finish and supple tannins; it should drink well for 4-7 years.
A distinct herbal or spice note is the first thing you'll notice in this Sangiovese-based Riserva. Medicinal herbs, Indian spice, cinnamon, cumin and dried sage or oregano are very abundant and set it apart from the rest. In the mouth, this is a firm wine with a solid tannic grip suggesting a successful pairing with grilled meats marinated in rosemary oil.
Shows berry and bark character, with hints of dried herbs and earth. Medium-bodied, fresh and clean, with lovely fruit. Drink now.
Slightly fuller-bodied than the 2003 Chianti, with ripe, chocolaty, slightly raisiny flavors blending with black cherry, plum and earth. Folds in cedar and anise notes on the finish. 100% Sangiovese.
