Cypres de Climens Barsac 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

The Wine Society believe there is no finer wine produced in Barsac or Sauternes than Climens, and we are inclined to agree! Cypres de Climens is the second wine of Chateau Climens, and is one of the rare single grape variety wines of the region, being 100% Semillon. The extremeley low yields and the focus on quality throughout the winemaking process gives the Climens wines a great sweetness and richness, masterfully balanced by an elegant touch, typical of Barsac. The great vintages of this wine are amongst the finest sweet wines produced anywhere in the world, and have potential to age and improve for decades. With enticing aromas of white blossom, apricot, pineapple and lime, nicely entwined with the botrytis character, this wine has a fresh, balanced finish, and is a proud example of what a Barsac should be. Enjoy now until 2028. "This is very seductive and as good, if not better, than many of its grand cru peers." - Neil Martin , eRobertParker.com, April 2014
