Cycles Gladiator Pinot Grigio 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Cycles Gladiator is a celebration of the freedom and happiness that pervaded the late 19th century following the invention of the bicycle. The golden age of cycling reached its pinnacle in 1895 - that same year French painter G. Massias created one of the great Parisian art posters advertising a fashionable new bicycle or 'le bicycle velocipede'. His famed artwork that once beautifully showcased the stylish 'Cycles Gladiator' now graces the bottles of our classic wines from California's Central Coast. His mythological image if the 'winged bicycle' captures the grace, beauty, and uniqueness of our hillside vineyards. Let Cycles Gladiator whisk you away for the ride of your life. This wine expresses lovely aromatics of pear and honeydew. Bright, juicy flavors of citrus and apples that lead to a sweet mineral core. The finish is soft and lingering; thanks to a balanced acidity that carries the fruit well into the back of the palate. Awards & Reviews Gold Medal! - The 2006 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition "3 1/2 Stars!" - Michael Lonsford, The Houston Chronicle (2006) Sugar: Dry Oak: 100% Stainless Steel
