This blend of 62% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 8% Syrah and 3% Petit Verdot is part of Michel Rolland’s Clos de Los Siete project. The wine features the classic Malbec notes of plum, mocha and tobacco framed by spice, blackcurrant and dark berries of the Cabernet and Syrah. *This is an elegant and finessed Mendoza wine.*

The 2009 Collecion is a blend of the varietals. Purple in color, with a brooding bouquet, it is a dense, structured, rich wine with impeccable balance, volume, and length. It has the structure to evolve for 2-3 years but can be approached now. It, too, is a great value. A ripe, racy red, featuring a dark core of spicy kirsch, cassis and plum sauce notes, backed by juicy acidity and fine tannins. Theres range to this as well, with hints of baking spices, bitter almond and mesquite. Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2015. 6,000 cases imported. -NW (a blend based on 60% malbec) Medium ruby. High-pitched aromas of blackberry and fruitcake, with a medicinal note of licorice. Dense and suave on entry, then concentrated and firm in the middle, even a bit youthfully bound-up, with sound acidity framing the black fruit flavors.
