Add your review91 points. Blackcurrant, blackberry, and blueberry dominate the nose. It’s deep and intense, with a slightly Alpine aroma, reminiscent of a lakeside forest. A spin in the glass reveals woody notes of berry bush and a faint touch of suede. Sweet, perfectly ripe dark red fruit introduces the palate. There is plum and blackcurrant, tons of spice, and a rich chocolate truffle flavor on the mid palate. It’s full of forest tones and dried blueberries, and there is a very peculiar popcorn and caramel finish that I find absolutely intriguing. This is an excellently refined wine, with powdery, firm tannins that despite its massive size, glides across the palate like velvet. Very impressive. Strong malbec note in the nose offset by a little black plum, then a velvety Bordeaux-like blend with a good deal of structure and an exceptionally smooth finish – an evergreen. (AV 88, http://argovino.com/?p=372)
A big bite off the top, this Bordeaux blend wiffs of chocolate, red berries, leather and barnyard with just a hint of hoysin. Spicy introduction on the palate that leads to a more complex host of blackish berries and a a special roundness that seems to inhabit higher altitude wines. Recommended cellar age to 2014 but I suspect it will keep nicely to 2020.
