Cupcake Vineyards Riesling Mosel 2013
I was a bit surprised that this Pfalz QbA was enjoyable. Nice fruit, good acid, 1% RS. Nice citrus and mineral. Excellent value. Lacks classic German Riesling perfume nose but still enjoyable. Not as much acid as their Mosel. My rating -- 86.

Nice straw color, nice lime and lemon notes, good acid balance but a short finish. Slight honey--Pleasant wine that needs to be more extracted to be judged with the best QbAs. Very similar to their 2012 Mosel Riesling. Probably 1% RS. My rating 86.
Two and a half glasses
A bit of a punch on the nose, with sweet aromas. Overpoweringly sweet, creamy, with a touch of acidity on the finish.
Fresh stone fruit and lemon on the fairly strong nose. The body has more of a syrupy melon feel with good acidity and some sweetness on the finish. Detectable canned peaches. Really easy to drink, mom-friendly.
External Reviews for Cupcake Vineyards Riesling Mosel
Cupcake Riesling starts off with a nose that shows hints of ripe honeydew and lemon chiffon. It fills the palate with the flavors of creamy lemons, bright citrus fruits and just a hint of sweetness. Broad and full-bodied, it finishes with a zesty thirst quaffing zing that leaves the imbiber wanting another glass. It is reminiscent of a lemon cream cupcake.
Rating: 80/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. There may be a tentative bit of candied fruit to be found in the nose here, but its bitter, overly acidic, fruitless flavors remind as much of thin, unsweetened lemonade as of anything else, and the wine is easily avoided.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.

From Yakima Valley grapes, this is a solidly made Riesling with just a trace of sweetness. Citrus fruits, lemon oil and hints of tea and honey fill out the palate, which has a pleasing roundness.
