Editorial Reviews for Cupcake Pinot Grigio
A touch faded with peach and pear fruit on the nose. Soft in the mouth, but at the same time it’s kind of delicate with a light appeal to the fresh apple and pear flavors. A hint of bitterness on the back end adds some nice contrast and extends the finish. 83pts

Before I took the first sip of this wine, unfortunately, I was forced to actually smell the wine first. Not by tradition or technique but by the fact that this wine showed hints of vinegar, feet, motor oil, and maybe poop. To describe the taste of Cupcake Vineyards' Pinot grigio I will say that I was very surprised and happy to discover hints of alcohol because I was almost certain that the bottler had pulled a fast one and replaced the wine with pee. Sure, it was only $7 and you can't expect much but good grief, I can buy swill at the same price from a meth addict that tastes better than this rain water.
The first sip impresses with a nice blend of sweetness and citrus. But it is thin and pale, and a stemmy bitterness becomes more noticeable as one goes along. Similar to, but not as good as the other 2 Cupcake whites I've tried. Around $9 a bottle.
Nothing special, just a decent Pinot Grigio that is a bit more flavorful than something like Cavit or Beringer. If Cavit is 3/5 I would give this 3.1/5 ...
The bouquet is...rather unpleasant.
very clean finish, balanced, pronounced mineral notes.

Escape to Italy with our Pinot Grigio sourced from Trentino. Full and complex, this wine has a nose with hints of pineapple, pears and sweet lemons. Tropical fruits are integrated with the zest of citrus fruits and give away to a creamy mid-palate. - Winery
Winemaker's Notes:Our Pinot Grigio is full, with a nose that shows hints of pineapple, pears, and sweet lemons. The body is full and gives way to a creamy mid-palate, integrating tropical fruits, with the vibrant zing of citrus fruits. It is reminiscent of a pineapple upside down cupcake.
